So how long is the hospitality suite open? If there is a good live band nearby we would be cool with going out for a bit, then nightcapping at the suite. But no matter what, we will be hanging out with all our friends. Right? Theresa

If you're in the mood for Jazz, there's this one place that my friends have been going to lately. I'll double check on the name when I go see them this weekend, but I remember that it has something to do with elephants.

The hospitality suite is scheduled to be open during the duration of the event, but we still need volunteers for evening shifts.

I thought one idea would be to do an Alamo viewing thing. We could pick a show beforehand, people can buy tickets online and go as a group.

I'll be in the Hospitality Suite, and I might head over to a local 6th street establishment if friends are so inclined.

Yeah. Did you have questions about that venue?

Would it be a cool place to go? My husband was reading about it and mentioned that the midnight act might be someone he'd like to see, but not desperately need to.
He's more of an old rocker so I don't know about the band.

It's a popular venue, so it should be fun to go there...especially if you're (or he is) into the band.

Antone's has good local rock bands playing all the time during the weekends. So does Red Eyed Fly and Emo's. Mom's is another good venue and has a nice 2nd-floor-opening-up-to-the-rooftop setting. These places usually have a cover charge of around $10. Momo's is right above Katz's, that serves wonderful kosher food.
The Elephant Room is top notch. Stocked with a good bar and fine, fine jazz sounds. It is right above Kyoto's, the only sushi bar to go to in town. Kyoto's incidentally has happy hour at 5-6 p.m. with the cheapest + best quality sushi ever.

I cannot recommend Esthers Follies on 6th St enough. They are awesome and we always go when my mom comes to town. They have 10 pm shows on Fri and Sat
