"Can I make a suggestion that doesn't involve violence, or is this the wrong crowd for that?"

Refunds:

The BCB committee is required to make non-refundable deposits and purchases while planning and executing the Browncoat Ball. As a result, we are unable to grant refunds for BCB registrations. Refunds for hotel reservations, airline tickets, etc. are at the discretion of the issuing authorities.

Drugs & Alcohol:

The Portland Browncoat Ball and the PDX Browncoats recognize all state and federal laws regarding the possession, use and distribution of illegal substances. The Browncoal Ball staff reserves the right to revoke Browncoat Ball (BCB) membership of any guest found with or discovered under the influence of illegal substances.

The state of Oregon recognizes the legal drinking age as 21 years old. If the consumption of alcohol by a minor in a public place is brought to the attention of the BCB Staff, the staff will take the ask the guest to leave the area. The Widmer Brewery Tour is open to all ages, however the BCB will abide by all of Widmer's rules and policies regarding the sale and consumption of alcohol on their property.

Smoking:

The state of Oregon has a Smokefree Workplace Law which prohibits smoking inside and within 10 feet of entrances, exits, windows that open, and ventilation intakes of workplaces or public places. This includes restaurants, bars, and taverns. All of the Governor Hotel's guest and event rooms are also smoke free.

Weapons:

No live firearms of any kind will be permitted at any activity hosted by the BCB. Plastic, cast-resin "prop" and non-firing replica firearms are permitted at Saturday evening's Ball only. The Ball staff will inspect such weapons upon entrance to the Ball. Immediately after inspection, all weapons will be peace-bound by the staff into a holster or other carrying device; no slung replica firearms (i.e., long arms) of any type are permitted.

Liability:

You attend the Browncoat Ball at your own will, by your own consent and at your own risk. The Browncoat Ball and the PDX Browncoats take no responsibility for anything untoward which may happen during your participation in BCB activities. We make no guarantee, explicit or implicit, that the various venues, locations, tours, means of transport, activities and events of the BCB are free of potential hazards.

Children:

No children under the age of 16 will be admitted to any of the Browncoat Ball functions. No baby sitting or child care services will be provided by the PDX Browncoats or the Governor Hotel. Guests are responsible for arranging for their own child care.

The BCB staff request that any children 16 years and older attending any Browncoat Ball activity be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. Parents and guardians will be responsible for conduct of such children.

The Final Rule:

REGARDLESS OF ANYTHING ELSE, YOU MUST COMPLY WITH ALL LAWS AND REGULATIONS OF THE STATE OF OREGON, THE CITY OF PORTLAND, THE GOVERNOR HOTEL AND THE PDX BROWNCOATS.

Please contact the BCB staff at info@browncoatball.com with any questions and concerns.
